Pitch Us
Have an idea you think is perfect for our in-person format?
We’re building the next issue of our in-person magazine, and we’re seeking experienced storytellers to create StoryTours in New York City. Our storytellers are freelance journalists, playwrights, fiction writers and interactive tale spinners. They work with an editor to shape their StoryTour, and they’re paid for their work. Send a pitch for your fiction or nonfiction StoryTour to us at pitch@story-tour.com with the word “pitch” included in the subject line.
What are we looking for?
Fiction: Stories that make use of the spaces of New York City to build a new narrative. Our fiction StoryTours can be in the format of a historical walking tour – or something entirely different. Horror? Mystery? Historical fiction? Improv? Any genre can work, and the possibilities are endless.
Nonfiction: These should be narrative stories that would work in the pages of a longform magazine. Place – or people – should be key to the tale, and in most cases some of the people involved should be willing to be interviewed in front of the StoryTour audience. StoryTours can stand alone – or they can grow out of previously published or new, written work.
This is a relatively new format and we welcome the chance to offer support and feedback. Pop us a note at pitch@story-tour.com with “question” in the subject line.
